Stamford Daniels face 12th-placed Nantwich at home tomorrow (Saturday).

The 33-year-old has signed dual forms with Halifax, who are currently sitting fifth in the Conference, and Stamford. It means he would be able to return to the Daniels if unused at Halifax.

Challinor, who rejoined the Daniels in the summer, has been in fine form through December, peaking on Boxing Day when he scored twice in Stamford’s 3-0 victory over King’s Lynn.

Manager David Staff said: “At this stage in his life this could be the last big chance of his career.

“Jon has always had an agreement with us that if a Conference club came in, we wouldn’t stand in his way.

“Halifax are in a position where they need someone who can come in with experience and do a job and Jon fits the bill.

“He has enjoyed his time with us and we wish him well. He has been of great value to the club and he always gave his best for us.”

Challinor has plenty of experience playing in higher leagues, most recently playing for York City in League Two.

Challinor also won the FA Trophy with York in 2012.
