Tom Smith’s superb strike sealed a second successive home win for Deeping Rangers as they continued their great start to the season in the UCL Premier Division.
The left-back fired into the far corner of the net on 66 minutes after Long Buckby midfielder Ryan Merry’s first-half own-goal.
Jamie Graham and Craig Parker missed the target with early efforts for Deeping.
Parker’s shot was pushed wide and he delivered the corner which came off Merry to make it 1-0 on 22 minutes.
Parker wasted a golden chance to double the lead on the stroke of half-time.
But Smith struck home and Deeping comfortably picked up three points, although Antar Phipps-Norton hit the post at the other end.
Rangers are in third position in the league, behind Holbeach United and Yaxley on goal difference.
