Cottesmore have blasted away two opponents in their pre-season matches so far scoring eight goals in two matches.
They eased past local rivals Stamford Bels with a convincing 4-0 victory at Rogues Park on Saturday.
The management team of Gary Drake and Steve Duffy once again made changes to Cottesmore’s starting line up following a 4-1 win against Eastwood Town Reserves on Wednesday last week.
In soaring heat and with the visitors having 25 players with them, it was decided to play the game in three 30-minute periods.
The first period was controlled by Cottesmore with Matt Panter having the first sight of goal when his long-range effort was saved well in the opening minutes.
It was Harry Stannard who opened the scoring to make it two goals in two games after he turned well and finished clinically in the area.
The second was added just before the break as Will Wells opened his account for the club.
The second period saw the visitors come into the game more.
Cottesmore struggled to break down a resolute home defence, although Wells should have done better when he blazed over when one-on-one with the keeper.
The final third once again belonged to the home side.
Danny Bomken added the third with a well-taken header.
Bomken had played the first two periods in goal and impressed once again as he did against Eastwood before featuring up front in the final period.
The game was wrapped up late in the final period when Matt Panter made a late break into the box before beating the keeper from close range.
The scorers against Eastwood at Uppingham on Wednesday last week were player manager Drake, Stannard, Andy Teare and Ian Harrison.
That win followed a 1-0 defeat to Barrow Town.
Cottesmore face Harrowby United tomorrow at Rogues Park, 3pm kick off.
