FOOTBALL: Unbeaten records are over at Oakham and Langtoft but Bels fire five for their first win

OAKHAM United and Langtoft United were among the teams to lose their unbeaten records in the Peterborough and District League on Saturday.

Oakham were beaten 3-2 at home by Parson Drove who move one place above the Rutland side to fourth in the premier division.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Deeping Rangers Reserves ended a run of three defeats with a 2-1 victory at Leverington. King’s Cliffe picked up their first point with a 1-1 draw at home to Ramsey Town.

In Division One, Langtoft came unstuck at leaders Hampton Sports with a 3-0 reverse, and Stamford Bels picked up their first three points with a 5-1 win at Sutton Bridge.

Ketton lost by the odd goal in seven against Farcet United at Pit Lane, and Ryhall United shared the spoils with Thorney United after a 2-2 draw in which Richard Wilkinson and Ricky Pozella were on target for the Rutlanders.

Teams in the lower divisions begin their league campaigns on Saturday.
