Bourne Town club stalwart Darren Munton just can’t step back from the club he has been a part of for more than 20 years.

Munton stepped down as manager at the end of season but last night (Monday) he and Steve Elger were appointed joint chairmen of UCL Division One club at the annual general meeting.

The club’s first team will be managed next season manager by Raffa Mazzarella who comes in from Peterborough Northern Star Reserves.

So far Mazzarella has been putting the players through their paces and on Thursday the senior squad took part in a full scale practice game.

The club website reported: “Faces old and new looked to be enjoying the game with some of the new lads showing off their skills.

“On the downside Dan Mason injured himself in training on Tuesday and will be out for about eight weeks with ankle ligament injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
