It was a big day in the race for promotion in the Peterborough and District League on Saturday as teams who missed out on automatic promotion fought it out in the play-offs for a last chance at moving up.
The play-offs were held at The Grange in Peterborough.
In the PDFL Division Three Ketton Reserves beat Thorney Reserves 4-1 to win their play-off match.
Two goals from William Bird and a goal a piece from Johnathan Holmes and substitute Paul Richardson set up the win for the Rutland club.
Earlier in the day Baston Reserves beat Peterborough Sports A 4-2 to secure promotion from the PDFL Division Four.
Troy Waters snatched a hat-trick for the Goats and Wayne Hobbs also got on the score sheet.
Daniel Colbert and substitute Aziz Dost kept Baston honest with goals for Peterborough Sports.
Promotion places acorss the six PDFL leagues will be confirmed later today (Monday) when the competition’s organising board meet.
