Ketton 5 Whittlesey Blue Star 2
KETTON bounced back from a 5-2 defeat at Holbeach with a victory by exactly the same scoreline at home to Whittlesey Blue Star on Saturday.
Alex Sismore in particular enjoyed his afternoon, scoring the perfect hat-trick.
His first, a right-footed half volley, opened the scoring mid-way through the first half and he doubled Ketton’s lead with a header on the stroke of half time.
Paul Richardson made it three ten minutes after the break with a well- worked team goal before Sismore sealed his hat-trick with a left-footed lob.
Sismore doesn’t usually play up front but since switching positions has begged five goals for Ketton in three games.
Ketton let Whittlesey pull two goals back in the space of five minutes but made the result safe with a fifth, scored by player-boss Alex Griffin who slotted the ball away from a superb Callum Betts cross.
Griffin said: “We had a few people out the week before and were really not up to the pace but we picked our game up this week.
Ketton: Jamie Scott, Scott Holland, Martin Trawford, Johnny Holmes, Danny Clarke (Tim Bradley), Jamie Hill, Alex Collyer, Ian Marsh, Liam Palmer (Callum Betts), Alex Sismore (Alex Griffin).
l UPPINGHAM Town’s scheduled game at home against Parson Drove was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
