Ketton through to semis but Ryhall record is ended

Ketton U18s stormed through to the semi-final of the PFA Youth cup with an excellent 7-0 victory away against Woodston.

Ketton’s Will Bird scored a hat-trick, Nick Mainstone a brace and goals from Lewis Morley and Brad Freeman completed the rout.

Ketton travel to Hungate for more cup action on Sunday, this time the Peterborough Youth League Cup.

l Ryhall United Orange U13’s tremendous league run came to an end with a 3-1 loss

against March soccer school on Sunday.

Since joining the Peterborough Junior Alliance and going back to September 2011, Ryhall had played 27 league matches before being beaten.

On this occasion, Ryhall were left to rue missed chances, and should have been out of sight by half time.

Both sides were fully committed throughout, knowing that a win for either team would put them top of division two. But the Ryhall lads should not be disappointed because they played some great football but on the day March deserve credit for taking their chances.

Ryhall: D Johnson, J Clayton, H Brown, T Smith, J Marechal, T Fowler, R Jibb, T Chesterman, L Rolfe, A Eddisford, H Peasgood, R Purkiss, F Palmer.

M-o-M: Purkiss.
