KETTON took the spoils against Oakham United Reserves in the PFA Challenge Cup second round, winning 3-2
In a very entertaining first half both teams played some attractive attacking football in the early stages without really threatening the goal, Oakham looking especially dangerous down the right through Rik Phoenix and Mike Reeson.
Ketton took the lead after 20 minutes a shot from the edge of the box was redirected on the sixyard line to give Oakham keeper Sam Busby no chance.
Oakham soon levelled after good work down the left. Gary Rix, Reeson and Luke Ward linked up well and Luke Palmer stabbed the ball home after Ward was thwarted by the keeper.
United deservedly went in front through a close range Chris Steele goal as half time approached following more good play down the left.
The visitors changed their formation at half-time and were the better side throughout the second half.
They levelled a few minutes after the break and went ahead 10 minutes later with a couple of clinical finishes.
Oakham kept plugging away and pushed men forward to get an equaliser but were unable to threaten the Ketton goal.
