LANGTOFT United went top of division one of the Peterborough league with a convincing 4-1 win against Sutton Bridge.
Dan Jarman and Dan Morris gave United a 2-0 lead at half time and after the break Tony Wooding added Langtoft’s third goal.
Sutton pulled one back but Tom Smith restored the three-goal cushion with an unstoppable shot.
Martin said: “This was another good game for us. Going top will put pressure on us but we have been there before and I’m sure we can handle it.
Langtoft’s reserves beat Peterborough Rovers 5-2 to move up to fourth in division two. Andrew Isabell and Modesto Santaniellio both scored twice with Martin Tooth also on the scoresheet.
Greg Rawlinson and Scott Waters scored for Baston as they progressed in the PFA Junior Cup, beating King’s Cliffe’s reserves.
Baston Reserves lost 3-2 away against ProEvo FC in division five despite goals from Michael Hasler and Ross O’Loughlin.
Ryhall United’s frustrating start to the season continued on Saturday with 2-0 defeat at Moulton Harrox reserves in the cup.
Ryhall travelled with several first team players unavailable and midfielder Richard Wilkinson was carried off with a dislocated shoulder that adds to Ryhall’s injury list. A minute before his injury Wilkinson was unlucky not to give United the lead when his chip beat the keeper but came back off the bar.
Tom Bownes was next to hit the woodwork with a far post header.
Moulton scored two quick goals and then defended their lead during the second half.
