Langtoft United Football Club have been saddened by the death of one of their founders, Brian Topham.
Brian, who was 62 and died at the weekend, helped set up the club with current chairman Barry Woodthorpe in the early 1990s.
The pair were co-managers in the club’s early days in Sunday football and, after a number of successes, they moved Langtoft to the Peterborough and District Football League.
While Brian hadn’t been involved on the management side for a number of years, he continued to help behind the scenes and remained a supporter of the club on the sidelines.
He was present at a number of games this season as Langtoft clinched promotion to the PDFL Premier Division for the first time in their history.
Langtoft would like to express their gratitude for Brian’s invaluable contribution and support to the club over the years. He will be greatly missed and everyone at Langtoft passes on their condolences to his family.
