Langtoft United claimed their second pre-season victory in five days with a 5-2 win at Cottesmore Amateurs that featured a four-goal haul from one of their new signings.

A slick Langtoft side, who had won 5-0 at Oundle Town on Saturday, moved the ball around sharply, retaining possession well and utilising the pace of their forward line.

Langtoft opened the scoring on Wednesday night when Talal Karama planted a header into the far corner and the attacking midfielder added a second minutes later, turning in a cross from Sam Thompson.

Karama completed his hat-trick just after the break, before making it 4-0. Dan Morris added a fifth with an unstoppable strike. Cottesmore reduced the arrears with two goals late on.

Langtoft visit Ketton on Saturday (2pm kick off) as they continue preparations for their debut season in the Peterborough and District League Premier Division.

Langtoft’s Reserve team also kicked off their pre-season this week with a 7-0 win against Stamford Bels Reserves.

Leigh Sharp, Stephen Ashcroft, Calum Parker and Callum Fox all scored in the victory.

The Reserves will play in the PDFL Division Two.
