It was a disappointing night for the area’s football sides last night (Tuesday), with all three sides in action falling to defeats.
Stamford continued their recent dip in form when they lost 2-0 at home to Barwell in the Northern Premier League thanks to a brace from visiting striker Jon Stevenson.
Bourne Town went down by the same score in UCL Division One away at Thrapston Town
Cottesmore were the only team in the area to score but were knocked out of the Beacon Bitter League Cup on penalties at home to GNG, after drawing 1-1 in regular time. Young Zak Munton scored Cottesmore’s goal and Khaleeq Shafique registered for the visitors.
GNG were the far superior side from the spot, winning 3-0 in the shoot-out.
