DEEPING youngster Josh Moreman continued his red-hot summer form with his fifth goal in three games as Deeping drew 2-2 at Ely.
Moreman has enjoyed an excellent pre-season since signing from Peterborough Northern Star, scoring in Rangers’ first game against Mildenhall before netting a hat-trick against Coates.
But it was Mark Jones who opened the scoring against Ely on Saturday before the home side edged ahead 2-1 midway through the second half. With four minutes to go Moreman struck to earn Deeping the draw.
Manager Tuncay Korkmaz said: “From a fitness point of view it was good for the players and we got the chance to give all the lads a good few minutes which was the most important thing.
“It wasn’t a bad game and in the end I thought 2-2 was a fair result. Mark and Josh both did well and I am pleased with the way they are gelling together. Josh has been impressive so far and I expect him to have a big impact as he offers us something different. But it is certainly not all about him.
“He has scored a few goals but it will get a lot tougher for him and the rest of the lads with games against Grantham, Soham and Lincoln Utd coming up over the next few weeks.”
