Bourne Town 0 Burton Park Wdrs 2
BOURNE boss Darren Munton blamed schoolboy errors after his side slipped to 11th in the United Counties League First Division on Saturday.
The Wakes lost 2-0 to Burton Park Wanderers at the Abbey Lawn to stretch Bourne’s winless run to six games and Munton admitted: “To be honest we are just not good enough at the moment.”
Jedd Whiteman scored Wanderers’ opener after 25 minutes, punishing poor home defending, and the visitors’ sealed their victory 12 minutes from time when scored Jack Wisniewski following a corner.
Munton who said he gave his side a rollicking at half time added: “In training we look good but on Saturday’s we just don’t do it.
“Players are just not performing and we cannot keep giving away goals the way we are.
“We have to get the basics right. Some of the mistakes are schoolboy errors.
“I don’t mind losing but it’s the manor in which we are losing that upsets me. The difference on Saturday was that Burton Park wanted it ”
The Wakes travel to Wootton Blue Cross on Saturday and will hope to complete the double over the only side they beaten this season, with a 2-0 victory at the Abbey Lawn at the beginning of September.
The Bourne boss added that he is looking to bring in new players if necessary and said: “The priority is a striker but good ones are few and far between.
“There are three or four who are putting the effort in but too many are not at their game.”
Bourne: Dan Jarman, John Currall, Aaron Campion, Pete Conneely, Aaron Jesson, Dan Smith, Josh Bell (Lee Conneely), James Betts (Ashley Firth), Alex Brockbank, Seb Hood, Tom Cardall (Andy Moss).
