The Daniels are offering football fans a special offer to mark non-league day when Stamford host Halesowen tomorrow afternoon.
Season ticket holders of local clubs will able to see Stamford for just £5 when Graham Drury’s fourth-placed side take on fifth-in-the-table Halesowen Town at Kettering Road.
The Daniels have made a solid start to the season so far, winning nine and drawing two of the 13 matches they have played in all competitions. Their progress in the FA Trophy - where they meet FC United of Manchester in the second qualifying round on October 27 - has meant they are well placed with games in hand of most teams around them in the table.
They have scored 23 times in the league at an average of nearly three a game, so with the Yeltz arriving having shipped in 20 goals in their 10 games so far, it would be fair to suggest goals are on the cards.
Chairman Chris Rivett said: “Non-League Day is a special day in the calendar, a chance for clubs to celebrate everything that is great about the semi-professional game.
“For the first time in a few seasons we are actually at home and with the international break it presents the opportunity for us to welcome some new faces to Kettering Road.
“We’d like to invite season ticket holders from our local clubs to come to the game for £5 and we hope that this will appeal to fans of our neighbouring teams across our county borders, who perhaps don’t get to watch too often, have to offer.
“I know supporters of clubs from higher up the football pyramid will be pleasantly surprised by the standard of football played at this level; it’s a comment that has been regularly made by those who have already watched us this year.
“We hope the fans of teams who don’t have a game, or are playing away, will want to come down and see how we’re getting on. I can assure them they’ll be guaranteed a warm, non-league welcome.”
Season ticket holders from any team (excluding Stamford or Halesowen Town) can get in for just £5 simply by presenting their 2012/13 season ticket at the turnstiles on the afternoon. Concession season ticket holders and junior season ticket holders can gain admission for £3.
Across town, Blackstones host United Counties League leaders St Ives at Lincoln Road, while at Outgang Road, Deeping Rangers face another of the UCL’s top sides, Quorn, in the FA Vase. All games kick off at 3pm.
