THE Daniels aim to end a run of eight matches without a win when they take on bottom side Shepshed Dynamo this evening.
A trip to struggling Dynamo may be just what the Daniels need ahead of Monday’s big clash against league leaders Grantham Town at the Premier Kitchens Arena.
Stamford slipped to eighth in the Evo-Stik First Division South following Saturday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Market Drayton.
“We were poor” admitted Stamford’s assistant manager Gary Stones after Saturday’s match.
“For the first 30 minutes we were better in terms of possession but didn’t do anything about it, and that gave them hope.
“In the second, we didn’t create anything. We have a lot of quality players but there was no urgency.”
New signing Ryan Whitehurst made his home debut while old favourite Tyrone Kirk made his appearance after rejoining Stamford.
Stones added: “Ryan did not get a lot of quality balls to him but he worked hard and Tyrone had a good first half. But he hardly had a touch in the second half.
“It’s really disappointing for the fans, the chairman and the committee but we have to keep going and take it one match to the next.”
