Stamford’s super start to the season continued this afternoon (August 25) as they beat King’s Lynn in the big Bank Holiday derby at Wothorpe Road.
Stamford took the honours 2-1 after going behind on 10 minutes and they have now won all four of their Evo-Stik League Northern Premier games and sit proudly perched at the top of the table.
The Linnets shared top spot with Stamford before today’s big game after also winning their opening three matches.
Jordan Smith pulled Stamford level when Ryan Robbins raced to the byline and cut the ball back for Smith to smash home.
Then with 20 minutes to go Nabil Shariff hit the winner after a long corner was played back into him by Smith.
In Division One South, Spalding drew 1-1 at Carlton Town.
