Oakham United Reserves beat Parkway Eagles 4-1 to progress to the quarter finals of the ChromaSport Intermediate Shield in a match that had previously been postponed on three occasions.

The match was finally played on the 3G pitch at Uppingham Community College on Saturday.

On the 20 minute mark, Parkway took the lead as they played a few passes between the Oakham midfield and defence, before their forward slid the ball past Neil Smith in goal.

On the half hour Maxwell was brought down in the penalty area but Oboh crashed his penalty off the crossbar.

However Lee made it even at half-time, planting a right-footed shot in the bottom corner after claiming the clearance from his corner.

After the break Maxwell tapped in from a cross to give his side the lead.

Five minutes later it was 3-1 as Lee swung in a corner from the right, which Carl Simpson headed home.

With 5 minutes remaining, Oakham completed the scoring as another corner was not cleared properly and Dalby hit a right foot effort into the far corner, in a mirror image to Lee’s earlier goal to seal the victory.
