New boss Wayne Oldaker celebrated his first success as Oakham United chief - then ordered plenty more of the same.
Oakham roared to a 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Whittlesey Blue Star last Saturday to jump off the bottom of the ChromaSport & Trophies Peterborough & District League Premier Division standings.
Oldaker, who took over earlier this month, grabbed the opening goal to set his team on the way to glory.
Returning star Jamie Forbes doubled their lead in spectacular style before a late own goal sealed victory.
But Oldaker refused to get too carried away with three points and immediately set his sights on another triumph when they host Leverington at the Vale of Catmose College tomorrow (2pm kick-off).
He said: “One win doesn’t make a season and we need to kick on from here.
“We need to carry on picking up results and I’m looking for another three points against Leverington.
“I set myself the target of stopping the rot and I think that has happened.
“There is still a long, long way to go but I don’t see any reason why we can’t finish in the top half of the table.”
