The new recruits at Bourne Town are impressing early on with three new signings finding the back of the net in the Wakes’ 4-1 win at Crowland on Thursday.

Jezz Goldson-Williams, Pierre Cardin-Liverpool, Rory Appleby and Scott Spearink all scored in the Wakes’ third pre-season game.

Bourne Town Reserves were also in action, winning 4-3 against the first team’s new manager Rafa Matzzarella’s old side, Peterborough Northern Star Reserves.

Aaron Jesson and Danny Pick were amongst the goal scorers for Bourne.

Deeping Rangers came back to draw 3-3 with Newmarket on Saturday thanks to a Spencer Tinkler penalty in the 90th minute.

Scott Bogusz and Rob Lee were also on the mark for Rangers.

Oakham United’s winning start to their pre-season programme came to an end in dramatic fashion with a 5-1 loss to March Town.

Ben Easson scored the Rutland side’s solitary goal.

It was better news for Cottesmore Amateurs who kicked-off their pre-season with a 2-1 win over CK Dons on Saturday.
