Royce Rangers U11 had to settle for runners-up spot despite a 3-2 victory at Market Harborough on the final day of the season.
Royce were denied by Carib, who beat Sileby to pip the Oakham side to the title.
A reshuffled Royce side started well with a super Jack Darby strike edging Royce ahead five minutes before half time.
Harborough looked the better team after the break and were soon 2-1 up with a combination of defensive errors and lacklustre tackling from Royce to blame. But with 15 minutes left, Thomas Harnett levelled and Royce pushed for a winner.
After a series of missed chances Alfie Cornwall was fouled just outside the area. Darby took the free kick and after a mad scramble in the box Alfie Cornwall found the back of the net.
Royce had done all they could but after 10 nail-biting minutes heard that their title rivals had done enough to win the division.
Coach Matt Smith said: “As I move on I would like to thank all players and coaches for the last two years and wish Royce all the best and much more success in the future.”
Royce: Zac Smith, Alfie Cornwall, Arron Altham, Jack Darby, Charlie Lloyd, Ben Kenyon, Thomas Harnett, Tom Kirkland, Fergus Cato, Joe Chesman, Jacob Davies.
