Things never seem to be simple for Stamford AFC so far this season - and a ball hasn’t even been kicked in anger yet.
In a second u-turn - I guess that makes it a full circle, star striker Ryan Robbins will play for the Daniels this season.
Robbins had originally agreed to join the club for a second time for the forth-coming season, but when their relegation reprieve was revoked the transfer was believed to be off; with the striker eyeing playing at a higher level than the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South. However after playing in an open training game last weekend he has committed to the club again.
Robbins tweeted: “Same form I signed a few weeks ago is the same form that will go through July 1st #Daniels”
Robbins had a glorious couple of years at Stamford, playing more than a hundred games and finishing as the club’s top scorer two seasons in a row before stepping up a league to play for Boston United last season. Daniels fans will hope for more of the same in 2016/17.
Impressively it means that all of the players manager Graham Drury signed for the club in the belief they would be playing step three football, have agreed to stay. It should mean the Daniels will be one of the strongest teams at step four next season.
They begin their pre-season programmed on Friday night when Scunthorpe United travel to the Zeeco Stadium. kick off 7pm.
Entry to the match will be £6 for adults and £4 for concessions. All children under 16 will be admitted free of charge.
Supporters can buy a ticket to cover all four games, Scunthorpe, Northampton Town, Boston United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, for just £18 for adults and £12 for concessions.
