Ryhall knock high-flyers off course with season’s best

Ryhall United produced their best display of the season to beat much promotion-chasing Moulton Harrox Reserves 4-0 on Saturday.

Barry Burton opened the scoring for United midway through a cagey first half.

Moulton then piled on the pressure either side of half time in search of an equaliser but Ryhall stood firm with Paul Sheehan marshalling the defence.

Ricky Pozella slammed home Ryhall’s second with 20 minutes remaining.

The visitors piled forward desperate to salvage something from the game but that left huge holes at the rear which Ryhall’s Will Thomas exploited, scoring brace in the final 15 minutes; first slamming in a Richard Wilkinson Cross and then turning home a low drive from Jimmy Russon.

Ryhall: Steve Rudkin, Robbie Blowers(Jimmy Russon), Paul Sheehan, Danny Sheehan, John Feetham, Chris McRoyal, Joe Lippet, Barry Burton, Ricky Pozella, Richard Wilkinson(James Farmbrough), Will Thomas. Subs: Ant Sheehan, James Sheehan.
