Smith leaves but Daniels hope to hold onto Miller

The Daniels have confirmed that Greg Smith has left the club but uncertainty remains over striker Ricky Miller.

Hotshot Miller has been Stamford’s most potent weapon this season and manager Waynes Hatswell hopes to secure his services for the remainder of the season.

Hatswell is due to meet his players later today and said: “Hopefully it will be resolved this evening.”

Smith seems set to join United Counties League side Holbeach United.

Hatswell said: “He wants to play but the timing has not been good.

“He was injured the first day that I was here and the lads went to Gresley and won. Then he was unavailable for training and not involved on Saturday.

“I did not want to stop him moving.”
