Stamford, Blackstones and Bourne in midweek action

Stamford narrowed the gap on the top two in the Evo-Stik League First Division South with a 4-0 victory at Rainworth Miners Welfare on Tuesday evening.

Rickey Miller scored twice in the first half, putting Stamford ahead after just four minutes.

Gary King made it three after the break and Jake Gibson rounded off a great night for the Daniels in the 88th minute.

Sutton Coldfield, in fourth, did the Daniels, who remain third, a favour by beating second-placed King’s Lynn 3-1.

Stamford are 11 points behind the leaders Coalville but have two games in hand.

The Daniels host Mickleover Sports at Kettering Road on Saturday afternoon.

Blackstones made it ten points form four games with a goalless draw at Boston Town in the United Counties League Premier Division yesterday evening.

Stones, who sit 15th after a recent revival travel to mid-table Kempstone Rovers on Saturday.

Bourne beat Rothwell Corinthians 1-0 in the Hinchingbrooke Cup at the Abbey Lawn on Tuesday evening.

Ben Easson scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half.

The Wakes host Wellingborough Whitworth in the league on Saturday.
