Blackstones went down fighting against Holbeach in the first round of the Lincs Senior Trophy on Tuesday night.
Blackstones, a division below the UCL Premier side Holbeach, were behind from the first minute after a low-cross was bundled home by Liam Tunstall.
After that saw Stones had to weather several Holbeach attacks but they finally got their act together and looked like a team.
They went in one down at half time and the second period was more evenly contested with the game flowing from end to end.
With Stones pressing forward a long ball caught out their defence and Tom Walmsley was on hand to drive the ball home.
It looked like Stones were out of the game, but back they came and their resulting pressure was rewarded in the 72nd minute when they won a penalty from a corner.
Hoskiss converted and gave Stones hope, but despite a push forward at the end Holbeach held on.
