BLACKSTONES face King’s Lynn at Lincoln Road this evening full of confidence after thrashing Yaxley 5-2 on Saturday.

Third-placed Lynn are one of the UCL Premier Division’s fancied sides but Stones joint boss Darren Jarvis says his side is ready for the challenge.

“We have a game plan and know what our strengths are.”

Michael Nelson opened the scoring against Yaxley on Saturday, putting Stone ahead five minutes before the break.

Danny Barker doubled the Blackstones advantage 10 minutes into the second period but Ricky Hailstone gave the Cuckoos a lifeline from the penalty spot.

Loan player Aaron Greene restored Stones’ two-goal lead, firing his first goal for the club before substitutes Ben Easson, with a penalty, and Elton Holmes completed scoring.

Hailstone earned and scored a second penalty for Yaxley late on but it was Stones’ day.

Jarvis said: “Yaxley are near the bottom of the table but they still scrapped for points and local derbies are never easy.”

Kick off this evening is at 7.45pm.
