“It’s the game the lads have been waiting for,” said Blackstones boss Dave Stratton ahead of Easter Monday’s derby clash with Deeping Rangers.
Stones have a tricky tie at second-placed St Ives on Saturday but Monday’s match at Lincoln Road is the one where pride is most at stake with the Stamford side aiming to make amends for a 3-0 defeat at Outgang Road earlier in this season.
“We will be going to win both games,” said Stratton. “A win and draw would be good but we just want to beat Deeping full stop.
“Some of our lads are from Deeping so they want to win this more than anything.
“We have trained in the snow so there are no excuses.”
Although Stratton planned no new signings ahead of the United Counties League transfer window, the Blackstones boss, whose side only have six league games left, said he may rotate his squad with one eye on next season.
“I am still in pre-season mode, trying to do different things. I do not think it will weaken the team. They are all good players.”
Kick off at Lincoln Road on Monday is at 3pm.
