Rutland Rangers 3
Moulton Harrox 3
RANGERS slipped a place but widened the points gap between themselves and the bottom pair with an exciting draw at home to Moulton Harrox.
Craig Welbourn, David Bates and Tane Scott were all on target for the Rutlanders, who remain unbeaten in 2011.
Ranger faced a Harrox side that had enjoyed a superb 10-match winning run but were undeterred, and went two up through Bates and Scott before the tables were turned.
Harrox replied with three goals to lead 3-2 before a stunning leveller from full-back Welbourn, who struck a perfect 20-yard half-volley.
“You won’t see a better goal than that in amateur football,” said Rangers boss Andy Saddington.
Scott has now scored at least once in each of his six appearances for the club.
Harrox beat Rangers 5-0 earlier in the season and Saddington says this result reflects the progress his side is making. “It’s credit to the lads who turn up each week. It was a cracking result against good side,” said the Rangers boss.
