Blackstones chairman Kevin Boor has resigned, the club announced this week.
He will carry on as programme editor and groundsman until the end of the season but will then leave the club.
The club issued a statement on Wednesday saying that after 30 years he wished to take a break from football.
The club said: “Blackstones Committee was surprised and shocked at this sudden resignation.
“Kevin has been a stalwart member of the club for many years and will be greatly missed both at Blackstones and on the UCL circuit.
“People like Kevin who give their time up on a volunteer basis are hard to find these days,so if anybody feels like joining Blackstones please contact Ian MacGillivray on imacgilli@aol.com.”
Blackstones joint manager Darren Jarvis added: “I’m shocked. From a managers’ and players’ point of view, I would like to place on record our thanks.
“He has done an awful lot for the club.
“He is the heartbeat of the club.”
