Thurlby United were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline when they played away to Nobody Athletic in the Grantham and District Sunday League Division One.

Thurlby started the game very slowly and were struggling to get any rhythm going with their passing and fell behind after 10 minutes when a shot parried by Stephen Main in the Thurlby goal was tapped in from close range.

Thurlby created several good opportunities but Stephen Mastin and Scott Enderwick both failed to put their chances away. After 20 minutes Thurlby found themselves 2-0 down after another mistake.

Thurlby upped their game and some good football gave Scott Enderwick a chance and he blasted it into the bottom corner.

Thurlby created several more chances but were struggling to convert from close range. Stephen Mastin twice fizzed in a ball across the six yard line but no-one could get a touch on either occasion.

Just before the break another mistake from Thurlby made it 3-1 going in to half-time.

Thurlby came out much more lively in the second half and were creating good chances but still couldn’t find the back of the net.

And on the hour mark, Nobody Athletics got a lucky break and their forward finished from close range.

Thurlby kept battling but they were having one of those days where nothing would go right for them.
