THE Wakes go into their final game of the season tomorrow hoping to end a run of three straight home defeats.
Bourne face Buckingham Town at the Abbey Lawn and manager Darren Munton said: “It would be great to go out on a high.”
Last Saturday Bourne lost 3-2 to Wellingborough Whitworth after going ahead through an Alex Brockbank goal.
Whitworth quickly responded with a leveller from the penalty spot scored by Kris Line. Line added his second before half time to put the visitors ahead and although an own goal from James Gorman gave Bourne hope 12 minutes from time, Line completed his hat-trick with his second penalty of the game with seven minutes remaining.
Munton added: “The game summed our season up. We got our noses in front and then shot ourselves in the foot. We got back to 2-2 and should have taken something from the game.
Bourne: Matt Gilson, Kevin Elger, Tom Cardall, Seb Hood (Andy Moss), Dan Smith, Aaron Jesson, John Currall, Jason Kilbride, Alex Brockbank (Steve Mastin), Ben Easson, Dan Jarman (George Holliday).
