BOURNE Town Football Club chairman Nicky Hawkins has expressed her thanks to everyone who backed the club during the 2011-12 season.
Speaking after the recent awards night held at the Abbey Lawn, she said: “I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to our supporters who have stood by both teams this season through thick and thin. They are a loyal group and their support is greatly appreciated by all at the club.
“I would also like to say thankyou to my committee, who have been a rock to me in my first year as the only female chairman in the United Counties League. It has been a difficult year for me - being new to the position - and they have helped me through.”
She also thanked the management teams of both teams, adding: “What they have achieved with no budget is testament to their love of Bourne Town FC and the work they do off the pitch, which is not seen by everyone, has been magnificent.
“Not many managers would stay behind to clean out changing rooms and tidy up. Without these guys there would be no football club.
“Finally a huge thank you to all the players. Their loyalty and dedication to the club has been magnificent.
“Looking forward to next season, it looks promising with the tie-up with Stamford and the support which we will be getting from Able Finance is a great bonus to the club.
“We hope we can repay them both.I hope you all have a good summer and look forward to seeing you all next season.”
