Olney Town 1 Bourne Town 1

THE Wakes recorded their third draw of the season and remain unbeaten after last Saturday’s 1-1 draw away at leaders Olney Town.

The Wakes took the lead after 29 minutes with a bizarre goal scored by goalkeeper Dan Jarman. Jarman took a free kick 10 yards inside his own half and the bounce of the ball deceived Stuart Dorrill in the Olney goal to give Bourne the lead.

But as in previous games, Bourne failed to hold onto their advantage and four minutes later Stewart Allan levelled for the home side.

Bourne boss Darren Munton said: “Dan has played a bit as forward or winger and has clearly kept his eye for goals. I’d gladly have accepted a point here beforehand and I would certainly have settled for being unbeaten after four games.”

The Wakes play Rothwell Corinthians away tomorrow. Kick off 3pm.

l BOURNE Town Reserves drew 2-2 with Blackstones Reserves in the Reserves League Cup. They face Rothwell Corinthians Reserves at home tomorrow.
