BLACKSTONES and Deeping Rangers both picked up three points in the United Counties League’s Premier Division on Saturday.

Stones beat Thrapston Town 2-0 at Lincoln Road while Rangers put seven past Irchester in a one-sided game away from home.

Danny Barker and Michael Nelson scored for Blackstones who travel to Newport Pagnell on Saturday before a derby game at home to Rangers on Boxing Day.

That promises to be cracking game with Rangers involved in several high-scoring games this season.

Dave Burton-Jones, Matt Evans, Mark Jones, Adam Weston and Josh Moreman, with a hat-trick, were all on target as Deeping won 7-1.

Rangers boss Tuncay Korkmaz said: “When everyone is available and on song we look a very capable side.”
