2011 champion claims first win of the series

There was yet another first-time winner in the Greetham Valley Winter Order of Merit this week with 2010/11 champion Martin Boughton taking the sixth round.

Martin had a fantastic round to come home with 43 points. His victory rockets him up from 43rd to 20th in the overall standings. Martin will be playing off ten in the next round after a two-shot handicap cut.

Graham Smith, playing off five, dropped just the one shot to come in with 40 points to claim second place. He was rewarded with a one shot cut to his handicap.

Peter Bagshaw was the long time clubhouse leader on 39 points until three others knocked him back to fifth.

Last year’s winner, Adam Clegg, took third with 39, pushing his father Paul into fourth.

Dave Copley still heads the table with 110 points, Michael Fish moved from fifth to third on 78 while Graham Smith leapt from 20th to third, just a point behind on 77.

Steve Anderson didn’t play this week and drops to fourth only a decimal point or two behind Graham. Steff Dutton rounds off the top five on 74.
