A party of 39 players from Stoke Rochford Golf Club travelled to Nottinghamshire last week to take part in a charity golf day that raised nearly £3,000 for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.

The annual fundraiser was organised by Stoke Rochford’s vice-captain Peter Gill and played at Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC which was in excellent condition despite recent heavy rain.

A total of 88 players took part in a pairs better-ball stableford competition off ¾ handicap, with Mark Parry and Keith Allen from The Nottinghamshire Golf Club emerging victorious with a score of 45 points.

Stoke’s Peter Gill said: “I would like to thank everyone who took part on the day and helped us raise £2,800.

“This is the fourth year we have held the event and the support offered from players and clubs donating prizes is amazing.”

Meanwhile, Stoke Rochford GC has announced two winter warmer deals for golfers who want to play during the winter on a course renowned for its year-round playability. See www.stokerochfordgolfclub.co.uk for full details.
