Toft’s ladies rise to challenges

Two recent competitions provided new challenges for Toft ladies involving rather more devious tactics than normal.

Both events were limited to 15 holes owing to the condition of the course but favourable weather allowed for good support from the ladies’ section in friendly but motivated spirit.

Lorraine Robinson’s 30 points put her firmly in charge of the Three Clubs plus Putter Stableford competition. Lisa Gauci and Jacqueline Hilton both scored 28 with Lisa second on countback.

The Putt Putt event needed even more tactical course management as the score was limited to just the number of putts for each hole.

Despite making nine pars over 15 holes, Lorraine failed in her bid to stage-manage her tally of putts and Maureen Paulson, who cleverly recorded only 19 putts, finished in a commanding first place. Karen Parsonage and Mairead Scott totalled 24 each with Karen bagging second on countback.
