Barnack’s Zeeshan Manzoor has established a reputation for massive hitting this season and he was at it again in the Burghley Park six-a-side competition yesterday (July 9).
Manzoor smacked seven sixes as he scorched to 60 from just 15 balls to set up Barnack’s 27-run win over Oakham. Barnack posted the highest score of the competition so far amassing 98-1 from their five overs.
Stamford Town were easy winners over Ketton Lions in a first round tie before Empingham became the first team to reach the semi-finals with a comfortable win over Ufford Park.
The final three quarter-finals take place at Burghley tonight (July 10, 6.30pm) with the semi-finals and final scheduled for tomorrow (friday, July 11, 6.30pm).
BARNACK 98-1 (Z. Manzoor 60) beat OAKHAM 71-4 (J. Morton 25).
KETTON 57-0 (J. Gallimore 30no, C. French 22no) lost to STAMFORD TOWN 58-2.
UFFORD PARK 62-5 lost to EMPINGHAM 63-1 (T. Cooper 29no).
