Thurlby driver James Abbott enjoyed another strong weekend in the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.
The 20-year-old maintained his run of top-10 finishes and his third place overall in the championship with a successful weekend at Donington Park.
Abbott competed over the Easter weekend at the wheel of his Radical Sportscars-prepared EcoBoost Mygale.
Saturday’s race was his most profitable - after qualifying sixth on the grid he gained a place thanks to a spin from Leicester’s Max Marshall and then picked off Chris Mealin, from the Isle of Man, towards the end to secure fourth place and with it a £500 cheque for gaining the most places.
Sunday morning’s wet race saw Abbott once again place fourth after a race-long battle with his Argentinian team-mate Juan Rosso.
A tangle with Rosso at Redgate corner in race three cost Abbott time but he recovered from the off to finish eighth.
Two of the Donington races were won by South African Jayde Kruger and he leads the championship with 158 points. Abbott holds onto third place on 126 points.
