ANDY Wilson has a commanding lead at the half-way stage of this year’s South Holland League, following round three of the six match series, which was fished at Spalding’s Lake Ross on Sunday.
Wilson’s 75lb 8oz winning weight gaveg him 10 more points towards qualifying for the final in June.
It was a match of two halves for Wilson who spent the first three hours presenting pellet up in the water to take fish on the three pound mark before going deep for the venues bigger fish, his effort rewarded with 10lb 12oz specimen to bolster his weight.
Drawn two pegs down from the winner, Ray Torrington needed a good result to improve his chance of making the final, his 57lb 7oz second place weight giving him nine points and a huge leap toward that goal.
Third place on the day went to Stuart Redman with 47lb 2oz and eight league points.
With a place for only nine anglers in the final and three more matches to secure a place on the day, one bad result could change it all.
