RUTLAND Water hosted the Lexus European Team final on Saturday and Sunday with 132 anglers representing 22 of Europe’s top teams.
Bright and windy weather presented anglers with challenging conditions but there were several good bags of fish brought to the scales including three fish for more than 13lb caught by Julian Hubbard (Team Rio Masters). But best fish on day one went to Trout & Salmon editor Andrew Flitcroft, representing Orvis Team Rutland, who landed a spectacular 7lb brown trout.
Day two saw another good split of boats, 20 heading for the main basin, 14 up the South Arm and the remainder to the North Arm.
Team Airflo’s Keith Tanner took a good fish during the first hour of the match at the top of the North Arm while Iain Barr landed the heaviest fish of the match, a brown weighing in at 8lb 2oz.
