DEEPING St James Angling Club held the final round of their Wade Cup Series at Four Islands on Decoy lakes on Sunday.
Winner on the day was Ray Torrington, fishing peg 2, who took a mainly carp catch of 74lb 3oz from the margin on meat with some extra fish taken at eight metres on pellet. In second place, from peg 10, was Andy Wilson who also fished meat in the margin and who took a mainly barbel catch of 57lb 8oz. Third place went to Nigel Briggs with 55lb 7oz.
Torrington’s win sealed him the series title with an aggregate over three matches 169lb 15oz.
David Marzell was second with 160lb 15oz and third was Dawn Morley with 125lb 15oz.
The final match of the series also confirmed Torrington as the Knockout Tournament Shield winner for the second year running.
The club’s next match is the John Slack Memorial Trophy to be fished on the Small Lake at Kingsland Fishery near Turves on Sunday.
