EXTON INDOOR BOWLS CLUB enjoyed a super annual meal and presentation evening at the Plough, Braunston on Friday.

Exton play indoor games during the winter and there were 21 members and partners gathered to reflect on the past season.

David Healey from Exton had enjoyed a successful year and took home the Peter Feeney Rose Bowl and the Eddy Hudson Tankard, as well as winning the doubles with Geoff Kettle from Cottesmore.

Runners-up in the doubles were Elizabeth Wallace and the club’s treasurer Mick Mills.

The John Burton trophy was won by Martin Wallace from Oakham with Mick Mills runner-up.

The Christmas Candlestick went to Ann Cusdin from Whissendine, and the Peter Feeney Shield was won by Geoff Kettle.

Chairman Bob Kirkpatrick awarded the trophies on the evening that Tony and Margaret Arris celebrated their diamond wedding. They received a card from the Queen and the club presented them with a box of chocolates and a cake to mark the occasion.

The next indoor season at Exton Village Hall begins on Sunday, October 7.
