Basketball players from Bourne Grammar School have regained a title the school lost a year ago with a series of excellent performances this month.

The school entered two year seven teams into the annual three-v-three Basketball Tournament at Middlecott School, Kirton near Boston.

Fifteen teams were split into four leagues from across South Lincolnshire and Bourne Grammar’s A team went through the competition unbeaten.

Bourne beat Spalding Grammar B 16-4 and UAH A 14-4 to qualify for the semi-final where they triumphed over Bourne Academy 14-4.

The final against Haven High was expected to be a tough affair and the scores stayed close in the early stages.

However, the Bourne Grammar team had the advantage of superior movement and height, finishing with an impressive 16-6 victory to claim the title.
