VELO Club Rutland riders Neil Redman-Davies and Ryan Corbyn have qualified as mountain bike trail leaders, and as Level 2 British Cycling coaches.

The pair passed the mountain bike qualifications after an intensive three-day intensive course in Yorkshire, while the British Cycling badges were awarded after three months of training and assessment.

Ryan hopes to continue his training and sit the technical leader qualification, and Neil is currently planning a year-round coaching programme for the new Velo Club Rutland Junior Team which has been formed this year.

l A NEW cycling sportive, called the Reservoir Cogs, will be run between Rutland and Grafham Waters on September 2.

Riders can start at either reservoir and can choose from three routes (58, 70 or 109 mile) with full mechanical support, timing and feed stations on route.
