GRAHAM Page won his first match at Deeping St James Angling Club, winning the second round of the club’s Wade Cup at Decoy’s Horseshoe lake on Sunday.

The trophy is won by the angler with the highest aggregate weight over three matches and at the moment it is still all to play for with only 30 pounds separating the top five.

Graham won from peg 11, taking mainly carp on the pole for a weight of 69lb 3oz.

Second, from peg 3, was David Marzell with 62lb 12oz. He used a number of different tactics through the match including the bagging waggler, method feeder and long pole to keep the fish coming to the net. This weight brings him into second place for the trophy.

Third place went to Nick Preston with 61lb 12oz from peg 15.

This match also saw the last semi-final for the Knockout Trophy between Ray Torrington and Des Dalton, with Torrington going through to the final against Andy Wilson which will be fished at Gedney Hill’s North View fishery on Sunday.
