Will Davis hit the round of his life to win the July Medal at Rutland Water Golf Club by shooting a 76 (nett 64).
The round included six birdies and could have been even better as he went out of bounds at the 10th on his way to a treble bogey 7.
Will said: “I always felt like I could shoot this kind of score in a competition and to know that I left a few shots out there gives me confidence to go on and score even better in the future.”
Richard Lavin won the lowest gross and finished second overall with a 74 (nett 68) and Vinny Keefe was third with a nett 71.
Mark Henshaw capped off a fantastic week of play as he added first place in the Alternative Stableford to his second place finish in the Midweek Competition.
Mark Finished on 43 points and ahead of Sharon Baxter only by virtue of countback. Sharon thought she had done enough to win with brilliant pars on the last two holes, however Mark kept his nerve on the back 9 to claim the title. Chris Pilgrim carried on his good play after winning the Midweek Stableford with a third place finish at the weekend.
