Think triathlons are hard. Try doing two of them in one day and being amongst the leaders in each event.
That is exactly what Oakham School pupil Hayden Greaves, 13, did when he took on two triathlons in the same day this weekend.
He began his day with an early start at Derby for the East Midlands Series race. Racing at the bottom of his age group (TS3) he came a pleasing 6th only to find out after the race that he did two too many swim lengths, to significantly disadvantage himself.
Despite that he finished only 12 seconds off 4th place.
In the afternoon he entered the Oakham triathlon.
He completed all three disciplines stronger than in the morning, coming first over all. This is the second year in a row that he has won the Oakham event.
